Lunch/Allergies
  • All LAUSD students qualify for a free breakfast and lunch.
  • If your child has dietary restrictions, your child will need to bring a snack and lunch daily.
  • Additionally, students may purchase snacks from the snack cart or lunch from campus fundraising food sales.
  • Bridgeport West School is a peanut/nut free zone. The reason for this policy is that there are a significant number of students in attendance that have severe peanut/nut allergies. If exposed to peanut/nut, these students could develop life- threatening allergic reactions that require emergency medical treatment.
  • Please do not send any peanut or nut-containing products for your child to eat during snack in the classroom or at lunch. Any exposure to peanuts or nuts through contact or ingestion can cause a severe reaction. If your child has eaten peanuts or nuts prior to coming to school, please be sure your child’s hands have been thoroughly washed prior to entering the school.
  • Healthy snacks and treats are available at our student operated cafés and stores, such as nut-free granola bars, muffins, and juices. You can participate in helping us promote healthy eating among our students by sending healthy snacks.
