Lunch/Allergies

Bridgeport School is a peanut/nut free zone. The reason for this policy is that there are a significant number of students in attendance that have severe peanut/nut allergies. If exposed to peanuts/nuts, these students
could develop life-threatening allergic reactions that require emergency medical treatment.

Please do not send any peanut or nut containing products for your child to eat during snack in the classroom or at lunch. Any exposure to peanuts or
nuts through contact or ingestion can cause a severe reaction.

If your child has eaten peanuts or nuts prior to coming to school, please be sure your child’s hands have been thoroughly washed prior to entering the school.

Healthy snacks and treats are available at our student-operated cafés and stores, such as nut-free granola bars, muffins, and juices. You can participate in helping us promote healthy eating among our students by
sending healthy snacks.

Transportation

  • Taxi and Bus options available
  • Contact [email protected] or Frank Conley: (818)-779-5172
  • Some students may be eligible for taxi reimbursement. Contact [email protected] to learn more.
Dress code
  • Students must arrive at school clean and tidy, wearing appropriate clothing and accessories.
  • Clothing, hats, and accessories should be respectful of all racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Items depicting violence, religious symbols, profanity, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or any provocative, morbid, or gang-related themes are not allowed.
  • In cases where attire is deemed inappropriate by the administration, students may be sent home or provided with suitable clothing.
  • Closed-toed shoes are highly recommended. We do understand that some students will refuse to wear shoes that are closed-toed. If this is the case, please send a note to your child’s teacher. We are here to help.
Cell Phone/Electronic Policy
This school year we will be diligent in the enforcement of our cell phone and texting device policy for students. The policy reads as follows:

Cell phones and texting devices are not to be used on campus at any time except by prearranged teacher discretion for curriculum activities. If they are brought out during the hours of 8:30am to 3:15pm they will be confiscated, and parents will need to come to school to retrieve the phone.

Therefore, it is imperative that you do not call or text your child during the school day. Our policy for emergency contact is that you call (818 781-0360) and ask to have your child’s principal paged. They will locate your child to assist you in the communication.

Please see the full list of rules and expectations on your parent packet. Please take the time to review with your child.
